Our client was adamant that the design must maximize the bay views from every possible vantage point. The site cross fall of approximately 5 metres presented many challenges and opportunities for the design solution.
The brief was simple; large doors, large windows, and large open spaces to facilitate regular entertaining. The custom design solution locates the entry door on the long side of the home so that, on entering the home, you are immediately struck by the views across the pool and alfresco areas to Port Phillip Bay and the city beyond. Views are maximized by custom designed commercial picture windows and large sliding doors.
The design cleverly incorporates different floor levels to work with the fall of the land. The horizon edge pool also helps mask the fall of the land and flat roof design ensures floor and ceiling levels are raised to maximize views while remaining within stringent local height regulations.
